Soil-crop feedbacks within contrasted cropping systems influence crop resistance to extreme climate events

In the article from Delandmeter et al. (2025), similar crops were compared within contrasted crop rotations in Belgium. Soil-crop simulations ran for 24 years under historic and future climates. Crop-livestock integration with grasslands improved soil organic carbon stocks. Soil conditions (C, N, water) influenced crop resistance to extreme weather. External or on-farm livestock integration improved crop resistance.
